My friend Katie from Baltimore came out to visit for the long weekend. So rad, especially since I haven’t seen her in over a year. Friday night we hit up Boulder Cafe for a late happy hour, then made an appearance on Pearl.. first at the Pub, then the Downer til close. Not a bad start to the weekend!
On Saturday, we visited the fine establishment Dot’s on the hill for some delicious breakfast, caught the end of the CU basketball game, and then settled in at Chip’s place to watch the Ravens v. Steelers playoff game. The game was going well in the first half, but the second half was a disaster and the Ravens got knocked out by one of my least favorite teams in the NFL. Ehhh. That night was fun regardless, photos in my previous post.
Sunday (finally illustrations!), we began by cruising around the Pearl Street mall, then met up with Chip and his roomies at Lazy Dog for the Pats v. Jets game.

Unfortunately, the turnout of the game was just as disappointing as the Ravens v. Steelers. Lame.
Monday rolled around so fast. Katie’s last full day in town. We began with breakfast at Walnut Cafe…

At breakfast, Chip mentioned he was working at the stock show in Denver, basically herding buffalo and things like that. So, we decided to drive him up there and check it out. Unfortunately, the buffalo weren’t actually there yet…just cows. Still pretty rad…

After a little wandering, we got back on the road and headed to Golden for the Coors Brewery tour. I’ve done the tour once before, and it’s always so much fun. Plus the drive back from Golden along 93 right before the sun dips below the flatirons is such a beautiful ride. The rest of the night was a little low key, with a quick adventure to a crepe place near Pearl for a sweet treat before preparing for Katie’s 3am bus ride to the airport. Delicious. Now time for bed…
