Crisis Montage at Broomfield

We made this clip for the town of Broomfield…. to show that skaters can take pride in their park and clean it up. It was at a time when the town had decided to not turn on the lights at the park, because they were frustrated with the constant trash all over the place. Fuzz spoke at the town council meeting, and convinced the town officials that we would take care of the park. And convinced them to turn the lights back on so that, especially at that time of year, people could actually skate after 5pm.

Plus, I actually did a nose slide down the big rail. Woo.

okay, last one.

Crazy Christmas Decorations and Thizz Faces

On the way to Fuzz and Leslie’s, Jack and I discovered this extremely festive home. All of these photos are of this yard. What the photos don’t tell you is that multiple yard decorations played creepy Christmas music, moved around or blinked…

We got to Fuzz and Leslie’s eventually…

Then we watched an awesome documentary “Ghostride the Whip”… so good. We were inspired to put together a collage of our “thizz faces” after watching as a tribute to Mac Dre:

Ha. So rad!

and another

Skating with Connor, Blaine, and Jack

First, we started at the baseball field ledge… Connor’s request. I got quite a few photos of Connor ollying a trash can as part of his line…

Then to Boulder to meet up with Jack and for me to jump a down a little gap. Then some goofing around down the street…

And even once the sun went down, we were still skating…

Good times guys!

yay for self timer. all 3 of us

A lot of plaid and Figgy our (we wish) shop cat

One day, Jack and I went to hang out with Fuzz at Crisis. Pretty standard. We realized we were all wearing plaid. This reminded of us Gordan and PlaidAgain. So, we made a little sign and did a photo shoot dedicated to our pal Gordo…

Fun self-timer photo shoot.

After that I found a piece of an old board that I left at Crisis by accident…

(It originally said “Hey what’s Null?… Oh nothing HEAVY”, but someone moved the HEAVY sticker over the Null. Ha)

On this particular night, our (hopeful) “shop cat” Figgy returned. We met Figgy one night back in August and instantly, Fuzz, Jack and I fell hopelessly and madly in love with this cat. He is amazing. I named him Figgy because he looks theĀ Figaro, the cat in Pinnochio. So if you’re not a big fan of cats or cat photos, you might as well stop looking at this post right here.

We bought him food last time we saw him, and still had a can left. So yes, we fed him… anything to convince him that hanging out with us is awesome and that he should totally be our shop cat.

Eventually it got so late that we had to send Figgy off on his way home, wherever that may be. We love you Figgy! (be our shop cat!!)

Saturday. Null skate session and Crisis kiddie premier

Well I’m officially only a week and half behind on my blog now – pretty amazing. All these photos are from Saturday July 28th. The day started out with an awesome breakfast with Jason (and Lindy for a bit before she had to run to work) at Walnut Cafe. It got a little rushed though when I realized it was noon and I was on a mission to catch the huck contest The Commission was hosting at the Winona ditch. Sorry Jason!

After leaving breakfast, I picked up Jack and Xander and we made moves to Westminster to the ditch. I took a few photos on my phone, which will be up here soon in another post – a cell phone photo dump type post. We only caught the tail end, so we moved on to a mini Null skate mission with Glen, Dean, Derek, Nate, Bernie, Chad, and a few other people as well. Mostly it was a manny session…

Well everyone was working on manny tricks except for Nate – who was getting worked! You got it though Nate!

I like the above photo because it kinda looks like Jack is kicking Bernie in the head.

kinda wild looking.

Bernie was working hard on film duty

Chad

It started to rain a little and everyone packed up… well except for me. I decided to figure out if I could skate this thing. After some frustration, Jack came back to join me. While I managed to just make it across, Jack got nose manny nollie heel…

Yea Jack!

From there we headed to Crisis where Fuzz was about to host a kiddie premier for a local clothing company – I believe called Counteract (?) The premier was fun; there was a big turnout of little kiddies and it was cool to see so many local spots that I’ve skated in a video. After the premier, Blaine took control of my camera. So these are all his to claim…

There were quite a few of these…

Okay, so this photo might be a little creepy looking, but the cigarette looks pretty cool… I thought.

After the mass of kiddies went home, we started playing dice and daring each other to do stuff (basically copying the game we learned from the LifeBloodWizard dudes) and Fuzz ended up having to shotgun his first beer ever. Actually, a tall can. Ha!

Blaine eventually had to go home so he gave me back my camera so that I could take pictures of him posing on his scooter. Ha.

And then it was just the four of us. So time for the rest of the crew (not me cause I had to still drive home to Boulder) to shotgun more beer.

And then it was just chill time…

Through Leslie’s lens… Crisis 1-year anniversary art show, cornhole, RMNP field trip

I asked Leslie if I could steal some of her photos from the night of the Crisis 1-year anniversary art show and our mountain adventure the next day. I’m really excited about the art show photos because I took so few that night, and also, it’s kinda cool to see photos that I’m in. And photos of me taking photos. Ha fun.

Well starting with the art show. Set up time… and actually it seems the first photo is my butt…

There were slips of poster paper and sharpies, encouraging people to draw whatever they liked. Neil working on a drawing.

I’ve been wanted to do something for Dean for awhile. He is far too nice to me even when I’m being a total bitch and I appreciate the photos he’s taken of me endlessly (even though he probably only hears my critical side come out like anytime I ever see photos or video of myself). It’s because of the photo he took of me that I was able to get in Lowcard #40. So I gave him my favorite photo that I have ever printed… and cried in the process…I definitely have some crazy eyes going in this photo, but at least you can’t necessarily tell that I was practically sobbing. In fact, when I told people later that I gave Dean the photo I started crying again. Geez, my typical crazy manic emotional personality plus 24 oz of 4 loko make for an interesting mix. Either way, thanks for everything Dean!

Once it was finally time to leave Crisis, we made our way to Fuzz and Leslie’s for some late night cornhole and drinks.

Glen looks so thrilled. Ha

Sandy and Gordo, in the shadows.

The next day was our Rocky Mountain National Park adventure. Leslie took some amazing photos…

This bus rules. On the way to Estes we just chilled and watched skate videos.

What a funny photo. If you look at my hair closely, you can see how the front literally sticks directly straight up sometimes. How silly.

Such a cool photo!

Thanks so much Leslie!

RVCA demo at Broomfield

I feel like I never know about upcoming demos, but this one I actually heard about and was hyped to go. I picked up Jack and Glen and headed to Broomfield. We made one quick stop for Jack…

And then to the Broomfield park…

Glen made fun of me for all my Cory Kennedy photos. So here’s one for you Glen…

I saw Dean got a shot of this also…Leo flipping off the camera mid front board

I let Will take control of the camera for a little while…

And just to prove I’m a total dork…

And then the team hit the road…

We all stuck around and skated the park for a few hours maybe. All I know is that is was insanely hot the whole day, and before long we were all exhausted, dehydrated, hungry and ready for some relaxin.
