Girlzilla Skate Comp

Now in it’s 4th year, this epic girls skate event takes place on Saturday 9th July and is part of the Relentless NASS Action Sports Festival.

Not only is this Europe’s biggest action sports and music festival, but the girls skate contest is part of the World Cup Skateboarding series.

The prize pot is already over $1,600 and still growing and the rider list looks set to include the likes of Lacey Baker (US), Amy Caron (US), Eliana Sozco (BRAZIL), Leticia Bufoni (BRAZIL), Julia Wilshusen (SPAIN), Lucy Adams (UK) and Helena Long (UK) to name just a few.

The insane crowd atmosphere and phenomenal level of skating last year made it one of the most talked about events of the skate calendar – and this year it looks set to raise the bar yet again – so wherever you are in the world, come show your support and be a part of this amazing, fun weekend.

All the latest news, buzz and build-up for the event can be found on www.skatergirl.co.uk

Chuck and Jess’s Wedding in the Springs

LP and I headed down to Colorado Springs on Sunday afternoon for a wedding… our friends Chuck and Jess. We knew it would be an awesome wedding and a great party just by knowing how amazing the two of them are… and we were not disappointed.

First, some Pike’s Peak poses just upon stepping out of the car after the drive down from Boulder…

We were ushered outside for the ceremony, but with rain and dark clouds threatening, it may have taken longer to get everyone seated than was expected.

Our friend Travis was the hired photographer…

And with a break in the rain, but still dark clouds looming behind us, the ceremony began…

What an exit!

The reception was inside the Sunbird Restaurant, complete with a sword for cutting the cake…

After dinner, toasts, and cake-cutting, it was time for dancing. As expected, the bride and groom had their first dance…

And don’t forget about this tradition…

And guess who caught the bouquet…

LP! It must have been destiny because I have never seen someone try so hard to not catch the bouquet… and still end up with it!

Such a good night. So much dancing and good times. Congratulations Chuck and Jess… wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Mid-May Hail Storm

I admit that blaming bad weather for my laziness and lack of updates is pretty lame. But so it goes. So here’s a little proof…

Honestly, I guess the weather has been a downer. Haven’t been skating too much since the it started raining almost every day. Most of this weekend was a bit of a wash as well, even without the rain. If that makes sense. I did get to spend some quality time with my bro and roomies who won’t be around Boulder too much longer. Love those guys.

Cell phone shots

Some indulgences…

Bathroom graffiti at the Attic…

The Black Dots… even without my actual camera I felt the need to take some shots at the show. Not sure if they’re even identifiable, but yea… oh well…. good music, good show, good people, good times…

Indoor fun

My second time at this spot and I really wanted some photographic evidence. Unfortunately, I was being really lazy and took almost all the photos while sitting in the same spot, so most are dark, blurry, crappy or all of the above. But you get an idea of the spot…

The next indoor fun was a trapeze…

I couldn’t even get on the trapeze. Ha! Gotta work on some arm strength…

A skate escape (and a gas pump graveyard)

After a game of skate, Chris showed some pop…

We took a trip around the pond at Webster park (I think that’s the name?) and then drove in to Denver to lurk. We stopped at gap for me, but were asked to return after 6 – a rather nice way of getting kicked out of a spot. Finally we settled on a flat bar spot for a bit.

Where gas pumps go to die…

There was a drawing that really seemed to intrigue the boys…

Oh, there was skating too…
