A Vermont Wedding: Rehearsal BBQ/bluegrass

Dave & Kate’s Wedding weekend adventure.

The weekend began at the base box at Mad River Glen.  There was a thick mist in the air, and everything was vividly green – an odd sight when I’m used to seeing this place covered in snow. The night was awesome… reunited with the whole family and a good kick off to the festivities. Looking back, I didn’t take a ton of photos either Friday night or Saturday because I was just having way too much fun the whole time. But I love what I did get…

Crisis in Denver

My photos were looking rough and I’m still into playing around with photoshop… sort of. The problem is I only have photoshop on my desktop and the monitor is, well, misleading. So I mess around and then view the photos on my laptop and realize they look completely different than I thought. So after switching between computers a few times, I gave up with these…

This old tree… and playing with photoshop

I have never learnt how to use photoshop. I’m trying to teach myself, but there’s really only about two things I can do.

I also still have this weird desire to shoot photos of specific trees, usually ones that are hard to take photos of. Mostly they’re trees I see along the highway in places where it seems dangerous or obnoxious to pull over. I notice this particular tree every single time I drive by it, but have been waiting for a clear day and a situation that felt right to actually pull over and take a photo.

So the day came. The right combination of a perfectly blue sky, traffic, and construction on the highway cause everyone to drive about 10 mph made it seem like the moment I had been waiting for. All for just a scraggly looking tree… I really can’t explain. But I used it as an opportunity to play around with photoshop…

Kyle’s DIY spot

On the way to a street session in Denver, Glen and I stopped by Broomfield to meet up with Fuzz and watch the kids session Kyle’s new DIY spot. This is the spot…

Brillo ollying in

Kyle kickflip fakie

Fuzz fs ollie

(wish he had tried a few more times…)

Kevin ollie in…

…to breaking the ‘crete.

And, Connor is a goofball.

That was that, and we headed to Denver for yet another rad downtown session. Nothing beats summer nights in the city… oh wait! I’ll be home on the beach in 2 weeks…

Some Crisis shots

Connor…

This shot is just to show Glen what Broomfield Park looked like on a Saturday…… so empty.

And then a light-up mission… that turned into a mini crisis.

keenan’s first try……and his 2nd try…This did not end well. :(

We spent the rest of the night checking spots since no one was up for skating after that. Hope you’re feeling better Keenan! Tough break.
