Sunny afternoon with Jack and Connor

Jack and I met up with Connor at Crisis, and it was far too nice out to not go push around. Connor chose to start the day off at this spot…

Connor, waxing the ledge

I think Jack was doing tail slide to 5-0…

…until it was time to bust out the camera, that is. Hi Jack!

Connor, oddly camera shy

Off to find the 3-tiered ditch for a chance to actually skate it. (It had water rushing through last time we were here)

Jack, wallriding up to the next level

In the end, Connor was over it, Jack landed something cool and I felt pretty beat up. Awesome. Back to Crisis.

First weekend of spring break… skate adventures.

Friday. So incredibly beautiful. Too nice to do work or be inside… so off to meet Connor for a little skate session.

Connor, ollie

Then we met up with some other dudes and skated this Emerald school…

Saturday started with the Commission’s High Noon Show Down (I think that’s what it was called) at a 3-block spot.

Some product toss photos…

After all that we hung out for a bit, checked out the Commission, and then went to a loading dock spot… to which I owe my incredibly sore legs (walking down stairs is still pretty difficult today) and that terribly nagging feeling of unfinished business. So moving on to a ledge spot…

Fun fun day. I was so beat. In fact, I didn’t even know if my legs would okay for walking the next day. But when Sunday came around, it was too much fun to just sit around. I met up with Glen, Dean and Jack, rode to Denver where we picked up Chad and met up with Rachel from the Springs. After the first spot, we moved downtown to the RTD station and Jack got a few things…

After this went down, our crew multiplied until we had about 30 people and skating turned into a powersliding contest until a cop, probably intimidated by the sheer number of people, yelled at us through a megaphone as he creeped by. We moved over to Tabor center, (where there was a total of 5 girls skating at one point… so random) and called it quits only after getting the boot. To end my 3-day mega skate weekend, I decided to upgrade from firecrackering 3 stairs to 6 stairs, which resulting in me diving from about the 3rd stair straight to the ground. Bloody hand and elbow… and a lot of laughter.

Off to Dean’s birthday BBQ.

St. Patty’s day, video premier, etc. weekend

I’d say the weekend began on Thursday, having a few drinks before the Malfunction premier. Awesome night, great video, good crowd, woo. I only pulled my camera out for a second during the end of the after party aftermath but…

… such a fun night.

Friday was a recovery day… and a day full of thoughts and conversations about the future. So, moving on, Saturday was our adventure to Wyoming for the John Doe Zine’s St. Flatty’s Day contest at the Cheyenne park. Glen, Dean, Jack, Max, Josh, Sean and I (oh, and Lester too!) made the trip up north for the day. Once again I only took my camera out a few brief moments, the first during the “flat to flat huck contest”…

We took off from the Cheyenne skate park to grab some food and do a little street skating. First the street spot we skated back in KOTC 2010, then to look at some other things…

Woo.

Skating was ended with kickflip in the sunset…

And some more sunset before our last food spot and drive back to Colorado…Aaaah.

Sunday sushi night!

First of all, I’m extremely sorry for not inviting over anyone and everyone that reads this, because we ended up making so much sushi that now (24 hours later) it still hasn’t all been eaten and I’m getting worried that the raw fish may now be passed its safe-to-eat stage. Oops. So yea, next time.

Aah. It was SO good. All we were missing was some sake… but a few fat tires and the most delicious coffee liqour (a gift for driving around a bit) made for a good replacement. Next time, maybe, a little flowering tea to throw in the mix…

A few photos from a full weekend with the Crisis team

You might not believe it based on the number of photos I’m putting in this post, but I have seriously been upping the percent of time skating v. time taking photos lately when we go out filming. It’s awesome, although I don’t have as much to post… but hopefully it’ll all pay off. And it’s been so much fun to actually get a few clips once in awhile.

So, here are the photos I did take when I wasn’t trying to actually skate. I could not for the life of me skate these benches for some reason, so photo time.

Jack came out with the team on Saturday… working on front nose slides and a few variations of such…part of a front noseslide 270 shuv, i berieve.

when I first glanced at this photo on my camera, I was so stoked… then I saw the board… well maybe I’m still as stoked even though the board didn’t quite flip all the way around. ha. anyways, part of a kickflip front noseslide attempt.

sweet.

Connor was filming a crazy line and I just caught the end…a hurricane to end the line.

yup.

We went to a triple set after and Jack threw down. I wasn’t super stoked on any single photos I took… and well, my camera doesn’t exactly shoot the fastest sequences. But, the footage looked awesome. victorious.

blaine, justin. jack in the back with a hubcap. woo.

it’s a rare day when Connor doesn’t want his photo taken.

uhh… blaine requested this photo be taken. that’s all i’m gonna say.

justin. watching from above.

Jack worked on filming a trick for a bit… some combination of no-comply, wallie/ledge jam, tailslide… and meant for there to be some shuving out taking place as well…ha. sorry.

success.

Well, moving on to another day. On Sunday we got a late start (yes, because of me…) and it seemed like a super unproductive day until right at the end. Anyways, here’s how we began…

After that, we ended up at D park, rolled around downtown Denver aimlessly, stopped for a lunch break, drove to another spot where nothing went down, and finally moved on to actually get a bit done. The very end of the day…Justin, tail drop.

And Chris had the trick of the day. So a few angles…front crooks. woo.

Besides that, there was a few more tricks that went down earlier, lots of bulldog sitings (including brutus – the most appropriately named dog ever), and then some driving around town to drop everyone off. And that was that. Super awesome weather made for a great skate weekend.

Sunny Sunday funday with the Crisis crew

We manged to adventure all over the place, hitting tons of spots, although some were a little too busy to skate.

I didn’t pull my camera out until this barrier spot.. and made up for it with the endless amount of photos I took here…

Connor, wallie

Will came out skating with us for the day

Then I took photos of Connor getting his wallie back 180 from just about every angle I could find and felt like including them all in this post. So..yea.. quite a few.

Will. on the tracks.

Blaine. so stoked.

Justin, crooks off the end

New spot. For a bit…

Kyle… way up the wall

A few more spots, lots of clips, fun times on a nice day.

Beer Bottling Night

The first mission was getting the siphon going…

We collected bottles over the last few weeks… although 24 of the bottles I brought home were unusable due to color (or lack of color) and twist-off caps. And, for some reason, all the Fat Tires I brought home were more of a challenge capping than the rest. Even so, we collected just enough…

This is what happens when I cap beer…
